On October 18 from 12-4pm, books became people in the Living Library on the shelves of the Santa Monica Public Library. A Buddhist,
a teenager, a nudist and a raw foodist are just a few of the people who were available to check out

online from retailers such as eBay and Amazon.com. Now, this convenient technology is available from the Los Angeles

At Livermore Public Library, all members of the information
team rove the library to offer assistance to the public. The goal is to
establish a presence at the point of need rather than expecting patrons
to come to the reference desk. This practice enhances customer service
and is essential given the size of the library and the continuing need
